InkScape Studio Paints

A Sherwin-Williams colour matching service

Every design in the collection carries a three-colour Sherwin-Williams match — chosen by hand, against a real printed sample, with real swatches in real light. We sell no paint. We promote Sherwin-Williams colour worldwide, so that the wall around your wallpaper is as considered as the wallpaper itself.

Included as standard

The three-colour match

Look through the imagery on any wallpaper product and you will find a paint card like the one below — three Sherwin-Williams colours drawn from that design, ready to take to a store counter anywhere in the world.

The problem

Colour cannot be trusted on a screen

Matching paint to wallpaper online is one of the quiet disasters of interior design. A hex value is a suggestion, not a colour. This service exists because the only honest way to match a paint to a print is to hold one against the other.

No two screens agree

Your phone, your laptop and your client's tablet each render the same hex value differently. A colour that looks perfect in a browser can land two shades cold on the wall.

Ink is not pigment

Printed wallpaper is built from layered dye on a textured substrate. Paint is opaque pigment on flat plaster. The same nominal colour reads differently in each medium.

Light rewrites everything

North light, halogen and 2700K LEDs each shift a colour's temperature. We check every match under more than one light source before it is signed off.

Texture eats light

A sand or rope finish scatters light and slightly mutes the print. Matching against a flat digital file ignores this entirely — matching against the real sheet does not.

How a match is made

From print to pigment

  1. 01

    The design is printed

Matching never begins on a monitor. A full sample is printed on the exact material you have chosen, because ink behaves differently on canvas, on sand, on eco non-woven.

  2. 02

    Swatches meet the sample

Physical Sherwin-Williams colour chips are laid directly against the printed sheet under neutral light, then again under warm lamplight — the way the room will actually be seen.

  3. 03

    Three colours are chosen

One deep anchor for joinery or a feature wall, one mid-tone to carry the scheme, one light wall colour to let the design breathe. Never more than three.

  4. 04

You take it to the store

You leave with Sherwin-Williams names and codes you can order anywhere in the world. We sell no paint — we simply tell you exactly which to buy.

Colourscape App

Match your room

Upload a photograph of the room. We read its colourscape, rank the designs that sit most naturally in that light, then draw three Sherwin-Williams colours from your chosen design.

Photos are never stored — everything is discarded within 5 minutes

The colourscape app reads your photograph in the browser and shortlists designs whose printed palette sits closest to the light and tones already in the room. The three Sherwin-Williams colours it returns are a starting point drawn from the same reference library our studio uses — confirm them against physical swatches, or let us do it for you.

Bespoke — by commission

Colour matching for designed rooms

For interior designers, architects and private clients who need certainty rather than a shortlist. We print your chosen design on your chosen material, photograph and assess it under your room's own lighting conditions, and hand-match a full Sherwin-Williams scheme against physical swatches.

  • A printed sample of your design on your specified material, posted to you
  • A full scheme — walls, trim, joinery and ceiling — not just three chips
  • Matched under your room's daylight and artificial lighting, from your photographs
  • Sherwin-Williams names, codes, sheen recommendations and a suggested paint order
  • A written specification sheet you can issue to a decorator or client
  • Trade terms available for studios specifying across multiple rooms

Commissions are priced per room and per scheme. Tell us the space, the design you are drawn to and how the room is lit, and we will come back with a quote and a timeline.
